SIM / USIM Development Course

The independent SIM development course that doesn't exist elsewhere: telecom/embedded engineers, new MVNO/IoT team members, QA/perso staff and career-switchers into cellular. Self-paced video + labs using the free tools on this site and a programmable test-card kit, with live Q&A. EN and PT cohorts.

Curriculum

Eight modules, each grounded in the specs and exercised on real tooling.

Module 1

Foundations

GSM/3G/4G/5G identity model; UICC vs SIM vs USIM vs ISIM vs eUICC; ICCID, IMSI, MSISDN, EID and how they relate (hands-on with this site's parsers).

Module 2

The card platform

Smart-card basics, ISO 7816, ATR, APDUs, T=0/T=1; command/response and status words (hands-on with the APDU tool).

Module 3

The UICC file system

MF/DF/EF, structures, access conditions, key EFs (IMSI, ICCID, SPN, PLMN lists, service tables); reading a card with pySim/OpenSC.

Module 4

Authentication & security

Ki/OPc, Milenage/TUAK, RUN GSM ALGORITHM / AUTHENTICATE; PIN/PUK/ADM; user-readable vs ADM-protected.

Module 5

Provisioning & perso

Module 6

OTA & applets

TS 102 225/226 secured packets (KIc/KID/TAR/SPI conceptually); STK/CAT proactive commands; Java Card + GlobalPlatform lifecycle.

Module 7

The eSIM transition

eUICC architecture; SGP.22 consumer RSP (LPA, SM-DP+, activation codes); SGP.32 IoT RSP (eIM); TCA SAIP profile packages; what changes and what carries over.

Module 8

Capstone

Read, decode and document a real card; design a simple profile; walk an eSIM activation end to end.

Format & lead magnet
